"Personal service, convenience and a special experience are requirements that are becoming increasingly important. We are happy that our partner proves itself time and time again by booking great locations."

The NCD is a platform that focuses on leadership and supervision. NCD's events aim to inspire each other and to enable personal growth. “We organize both national and international events about leadership, where we are constantly looking for something new. In this way we can continue to inspire and motivate each other and the participants to do things better and differently than they did before. We used to arrange that ourselves, but in terms of time and costs we could better outsource it”, says Gerard van Vliet, director at NCD.

Challenge

Various organizations need a space where they can hold lectures or meetings. Sometimes it is a beautiful castle in the hills of Limburg, other times a room along the highway. The NCD, the Dutch association of Supervisory Directors and Directors, decided not to organize events themselves, but to outsource them.

Collaboration arises

The collaboration arose from the need for a party that took the location provision off the hands of the NCD and that was able to continuously offer a new, inspiring location. Van Vliet: “We want to offer the participants of our events more than a folding chair and a block of cheese. Participants should already be inspired upon entering. The location is of great importance, but so is the reception. People must be able to park easily, be addressed upon entering and be given the feeling of belonging. We don't want to use a location too often, especially not in succession, because then it becomes too much of a habit. Then development stagnates.” The partnership that NCD enters into is a challenging one, as their events range from lectures with 30 listeners to lectures for 250 people. “And it is always well organized.”

How Onemeeting.com helped

Platforms that take work off your hands are springing up and growing into global brands, such as Uber or Airbnb. As a result, the market is undergoing a change. Those who don't come along won't make it. “We want an inspiring place to get together, arranged by our partner, so that it saves us time and money. If we end up in a place that does not meet our requirements and is not very inspiring, we will not return. And with the possibilities nowadays to make this known, the appeal of such a place decreases. The market must therefore keep up with the requirements. These types of locations may still be doing well for a while, but they will have to undergo renovation in the foreseeable future to remain attractive. Personal service, convenience and a special experience are requirements that are becoming increasingly important. We are happy that our partner proves itself time and time again by booking great locations,” says Van Vliet.

Benefits

“Because of Facebook and Instagram, people's attention is very fragmented. How can you grab their attention and keep it for a longer period of time? Inspiring locations help me as a speaker to achieve this. That is why the innovation engine in the sector must run faster and locations must adapt more quickly. Fortunately, we continuously receive gems via the platform.”
