The Netherlands is leading the way in Sustainable Meetings
After the corona crisis, the Netherlands is back in full meetings. Onemeeting.com and Green Key Netherlands are therefore signing a Green Meeting Covenant today during NE22 Nieuwe Economie Festival 2022 of MVO Nederland: a new collaboration to make business meetings in the Netherlands more sustainable more quickly. Both parties will make an even greater contribution to making 'Nederland Vergaderland' more sustainable more quickly. The goal is to reduce CO emissions by at least 2025% by 15 and also to compensate more residual CO2 in order to organize meetings of all companies in the Netherlands in a climate-neutral way.
“As a sustainable intermediary in the meeting industry, we see a sharp increase in the requests and bookings of sustainable meetings. Both in European tenders and in the annual consultations with our contract customers, we see that the demand for sustainable meeting locations and climate-neutral meeting solutions is growing. In more and more cases it is a requirement instead of a best effort obligation. The transformation to sustainable meetings seems final. That is why we offer a sustainable platform with numerous options for reducing and compensating for CO2 emissions. But, it's never enough. We can always do more. That is why we are concluding a Green Meeting Covenant with Green Key Netherlands. Our goal is for 2023% of all locations connected to Onemeeting.com to be Green Key GOLD by the end of 50. This has a direct effect on the CO2 emissions of each meeting”, says Luc van Bussel CEO of Onemeeting.com.

That is why we not only want compensation to be possible, but that a company first saves energy and then also looks at what energy can be generated on its own. We are convinced that a lot is possible here, especially for meeting locations. But there is more to do in the field of sustainability. Think of environmentally friendly cleaning products, combating food waste, making the menu more sustainable and involvement of entrepreneurs when it comes to their social position. It is important that we check with Green Key that a company is really sustainable. That we fight greenwashing together. About Green Key Netherlands
Green key is the international quality mark for sustainable accommodations in the recreation and leisure sector and business market, including the hospitality sector and the MICE market. Companies with a Green Key quality mark do everything they can to save the environment, without sacrificing comfort and quality for their guests. The Green Key program is managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education in Denmark and implemented in the Netherlands by the Stichting KMVK (Stichting Keurmerk Milieu, Veiligheid en Qualiet), a partnership of ANWB, Koninklijke Horeca Nederland (KHN) and HISWA-RECRON.
