Conference rooms

Now there are sturdy wooden conference tables, inviting seating areas and cozy houseplants, but not so long ago the Veerhuis consisted of two staff homes for GVB employees. This cozy 'home' feeling is still there due to the great architecture and the attractive gardens. The two houses, Stuurslaan and Bakslaan, both have a garden right on the IJ where there is a stretch tent with patio heaters all year round. A house is rented exclusively for your group, which brings peace and the necessary comfort.

Food and drinks

In the Veerhuis the catering is provided by the regular caterer Lisa Diephuis (Lisa's Liefde). Lisa's Liefde is known for the casual but elegant style and presentation of her dishes. Many of the products that Lisa's Liefde uses are from local producers, organic, fresh, sustainable and seasonal. Lisa's Liefde is happy to tailor the catering to the wishes of the guest and lovingly creates a tailor-made arrangement.

Activities

Working on something completely different provides space in the head, fresh energy and inspiration. At Veerhuis aan het IJ you can do all kinds of creative, relaxing and sporting activities such as balance yoga, fishing, action painting, Thai Chi and one of the highlights is a cruise with tasty snacks on the historic GVB ferry IJveer 35. Also enjoy playing badminton, bocce. Boules or ring throwing in the garden or a game of old Dutch shuffleboard is always possible. Whether it concerns team building, a break during your meeting or excitement during your party; We are happy to think along with you to complete the program.

Wedding

Say yes to each other in one of the romantic gardens with a view over the IJ. As an official wedding location, we have a lot of experience in organizing the perfect day. A wedding in a festival atmosphere in the open air with lanterns and food stands? Or would you rather look each other in the eye under our covered wedding gazebo with a white carpet and lots of flowers? There are many possibilities at Veerhuis aan het IJ.

Accessibility and parking

To get to the Veerhuis, guests can use the historic ferry ijveer 35 as private transport to and from Amsterdam Central Station, which can be arranged from the Veerhuis itself. Furthermore, the location is easily accessible by public transport. From the Veerhuis it is an 11-minute walk to Noorderpark Amsterdam metro station. From there it is a 2-minute metro ride to Amsterdam Central Station. From the Veerhuis it is about a 10-minute drive to get to the A10. There are six parking spaces for visitors at the ferry port. When these are occupied, it is €1,40 per hour to park outside the site.
