Karel 5 Events is the event location in vibrant Utrecht, located in a special monumental building complex. From intimate business dinner and private party to business event, meeting or conference. Karel 5 houses rooms and spaces of various sizes, with a capacity of up to 150 people. They have the luxury of offering guests no fewer than 13 rooms and several terraces – without exception with their own unique history. Food and drinks

The culinary side of your event is provided by the bistro or gastronomic kitchen, each with its own price point. Restaurant Karel 5 stands for "Elegant Dining." Experience a culinary adventure with modern flavor combinations and a coordinated wine journey through the most beautiful regions. Brasserie Goeie Louisa, with its open monastery kitchen, offers a more "casual classic" menu with lunch, dinner, and drinks. The Bar & Lounge is an excellent venue for drinks.

Karel V is located in a historic building, which makes it more difficult to save energy, but with optimal choices in equipment, plenty of energy savings are still achieved. Everything is cleaned with green products and 100% of the waste is separated.

Accessibility and parking

Grand Hotel Karel V is located in the vibrant heart of Utrecht, at the foot of the Dom Tower, yet offers a peaceful setting thanks to its beautiful, green garden. A stunning location just a 10-minute walk from Central Station. The hotel also has its own parking spaces, a unique feature in the historic city center. Overnight guests can park for €35 per car for 24 hours, subject to availability. Guests attending an event, lunch, or dinner can park for €5 per car per hour, with a maximum of €32,50 per 24 hours. Reservations are not possible, but the hotel is happy to discuss the options with you.

Terms & conditions

In the event of cancellations, the Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry apply, which include the following cancellation percentages, which are calculated based on the reservation value applicable at that time:

• More than 6 months before arrival date 0%
• Between 3 months and 6 months before arrival date 10%
• Between 2 months and 3 months before arrival date 15%
• Between 1 month and 2 months before arrival date 35%
• Between 14 days and 1 month before arrival date 60%
• Between 7 days and 14 days before arrival date 85%
• Within 7 days before arrival date 100%
