Diergaarde Blijdorp has been working on sustainable business operations for many years. After all, caring for nature is inextricably linked to caring for the environment. Clearly visible are the solar panels on the roof of the Oceanium and the sustainable Savannah House for the giraffes. When constructing or renovating animal enclosures, insulation, sustainable materials and smart technology to save energy are carefully considered. Less visible are the energy-saving measures in the areas of water, lighting and heating that Blijdorp has implemented behind the scenes in recent years. For example, a large number of taps and lamps have been replaced, intermediate meters have been installed and the entire zoo has been inspected to enable sustainable business operations.

Terms & conditions

In the event of cancellations, the Uniform Conditions for the Hotel and Catering Industry apply, which include the following cancellation percentages, which are calculated based on the reservation value applicable at that time:

• Between 3 months and 6 months before arrival date 10%
• Between 2 months and 3 months before arrival date 15%
• Between 1 month and 2 months before arrival date 35%
• Between 14 days and 1 month before arrival date 60%
• Between 7 days and 14 days before arrival date 85%
• Within 7 days before arrival date 100%
