Conference rooms

On board you will find 1 room for a maximum of 12 people. You also have access to a covered rear deck and a sheltered uncovered front deck. You have access to an interactive screen. You can share information from your own laptop or tablet via clickshare. Hybrid meetings are also possible. In the room you will find a coffee machine, a tap with both boiling and sparkling cold water, fresh cookies from the bakery in the village and a fruit bowl with apples and pears (from a local grower). The room is furnished with 1 large oval table as standard. This can be divided into two smaller tables or two standing tables.

Food and drinks

You can have lunch or dinner on board. The basis of the cuisine is Dutch with an emphasis on vegetables. Meat and/or fish is an addition and not the main part of a meal. The chef cooks with local organic products from a radius of 30 km from the ship. You will not find orange juice on board, but you will find apple juice. When the weather is nice, the chef cooks on the back deck on the Kamado BBQ. You can then watch and taste it. The chef likes to explain where a product comes from, how he prepares it and what he pays attention to when putting together a dinner. In addition to a full meal, the location can also provide a great drink from the Kamado.

Events and parties

De Voorhoofd is suitable for meetings of up to 12 people. The ship has previously been used for meetings, team training, product presentations and brainstorming sessions.

Activities

If you wish to do an extra activity, this can be arranged. To achieve this, De Voorwacht works together with other companies at its home base. You can think of sailing on a skûtsje, a walk with a guide through the area or going wild in the survival environment of the Kameleon island in Terherne.

Growing

De Voorhoofd is the only ship in the Netherlands in possession of the Green Key Gold. The home port has the Blue Flag. The Progress sails on solar energy. The deck is equipped with 24 panels that generate all the energy needed for a day. Furthermore, a large part of the heat on board is reused. The toilet flushes with open water. All utensils on board have been chosen for their minimal impact during production, use and the possibilities for reuse after their lifespan. The location has gone extremely far in this regard. The crockery and glassware, but also the cutlery, tea towels and even toilet paper, are energy-efficiently produced by European producers. A fair price has been paid to the producers for everything you eat and drink on board.

Accessibility and parking

It is not possible to reach the gangway by public transport. You can easily reach Akkrum by train. From the station it is about a 15-minute walk to the harbor. However, if desired, the ship can dock at the station so that you can board there. There is plenty of free parking at the harbour. In the future, the parking will also be expanded with charging options for electric cars. There are facilities for charging electric cars in the village of Akkrum itself.
